The Directed Energy Scholars Program Overview
The Directed Energy Scholars Program invites Master's through PhD-level students in the areas of science and engineering to participate in a unique summer program that may lead to graduate fellowships and full-time employment. These opportunities exist in the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL ) Directed Energy Directorate , which has facilities at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the Air Force Maui Optical and Supercomputing Site , Maui, Hawaii
The strength of the Directed Energy Scholars Program is the close interaction provided between the students and the Laboratory’s highly regarded researchers. These researchers function as mentors to the students, offering them close support and guidance in carrying out their research.
Upon the conclusion of the summer internship, Scholars will document their research in a technical report and will present their work to the Directorate Leadership, Mentors, and fellow Scholars at the AFRL Scholar Poster Session.
