Implimentation of neuromorphic computation for specific AFRL applications
Neural networks have shown promise for a variety of computational problems, including image recognition and data filtering. Recently Cognimem has developed a neural chip with 1024 neurons that exploits several classification algorithms. We have recently acquired the cognimem chip, along with a software development kit, motherboard board and USB interface. Student(s) will be tasked with programming the chip to perform several pattern recognition tasks. These will be benchmarked against the same tasks performed in software.
