AFRL Scholars Programs

Space Scholars

The Space Scholars Program invites students enrolled in Masters or PhD programs in the areas of science and engineering to participate in a unique summer program that may lead to graduate fellowships and full-time employment. These opportunities exist in the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate, which has facilities at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Directed Energy Scholars

The Directed Energy Scholars Program invites students enrolled in Masters or PhD programs in the areas of science and engineering to participate in a unique summer program that may lead to graduate fellowships and full-time employment. These opportunities exist in the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Directed Energy Directorate, which has facilities at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the Air Force Maui Optical and Supercomputing Site, Maui, Hawaii.

Phillips Scholars

The Phillips Scholars Program offers undergraduates and a limited number of upper-level high school students the experience of a lifetime! Phillips scholars gain hands-on experience while working with Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) scientists and engineers on cutting-edge research and technology. They will receive invaluable personal and professional experience while contributing to the future vision of space exploration and directed energy systems. Phillips Scholars positions may lead to part-time student employment. These opportunities exist in the AFRL’s Directed Energy and Space Vehicles Directorates, headquartered at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
